The back of this fisherman’s cottage in Coverack Had been left exposed for over ten years . It had been severely washed out and the sills were pretty shocking. I removed all the loose cob ,replaced the existing sills with good slate ones. I then repaired all the washed out areas .Then gave it two coats of lime render.
- The TV cables were buried in the cob to give the finish a less cluttered look.
- Here you can see the sills removed ready for the new slate.
- Here you can see the cob cleaned off and all loose material removed prior to repair.
- Here you can see the new sills installed into the existing windows.
- There was a good amount of stone in the cob.
- The base coat was applied with a trowel as the cob was actually in a good solid state.
- You can see the Hessian pulled back for the application of the top coat.
- the top coat was lovely and smooth with pleasant undulations.
- Richie admiring the finish.
