This is a great technique to solidify walls protecting the stone and giving a great finish to apply both active and passive lime paints to.

- the wall was badly pointed and washed out
- Here you can see a section of the wall that needed rebuilding.
- Again you can see the rough cast cement surrounds around the windows.
- As you can see the walls were quite well washed out and loose. Almost a tone extra sand was needed to fill the holes.
- There was no stone around the windows. We had to carve the block to give a better look. The desired effect is that of granite under the ragging.

- Protecting the lime is paramount to allow it to slowly cure
- Its a mucky job but Scotty was the man to take up the challenge.
- A good covering is needed to protect the lime from wind and sun and ambient temperature is achieved with a covering for around 5 days with damp Hessian .In very cold or hot weather this might need to be left up for a little longer
- You can still see the lime going off in a few places.
